No, Bonotiode Injection is not a steroid. However, this medicine may be used to treat osteoporosis caused by long-term use of steroids. Generally, this medicine is used to treat osteoporosis in women of the postmenopausal age group and in men who have an increased risk of fracture.
Q. Can I take this medication in long term for osteoporosis?
Bonotiode Injection should not be taken for a course longer than 2 years. However, your doctor may prescribe Bonotiode Injection for more than 2 years if you remain at or have returned to having a high risk for fracture.
Q. How is Bonotiode Injection stored at home?
Always keep this medicine stored in a refrigerator at a temperature of about 2°C to 8°C. Be cautious; the temperature should not decrease further, as freezing may cause the medicine to get damaged and can lead to loss of activity. Therefore, avoid placing the Bonotiode Injection pens close to the ice compartment of the refrigerator. If properly stored, this medication can be used up to 28 days after the first injection. If the pen is not empty within 28 days, please discard it safely.
