Consuming alcohol while taking Bactomet 150mg/100mg Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Bactomet 150mg/100mg Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Bactomet 150mg/100mg Suspension should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
If a single dose of Bactomet 150mg/100mg Suspension is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.

Nalidixic Acid(150mg)

Uses

Nalidixic Acid is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also used in infections of urinary tract, tonsils, sinus, nose, throat, female genital organ, skin & soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia).

How it works

Nalidixic Acid is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Nausea, Diarrhea, Headache, Dizziness, Rash, Vomiting, Drowsiness, Weakness, Convulsion, Vertigo, Abdominal pain, Visual disturbance, Cholestasis, Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation), Metabolic acidosis, Low blood platelets, Decreased white blood cell count (lymphocytes), Hemolytic anemia, Peripheral neuropathy (tingling and numbness of feet and hand)

Metronidazole

Q. How long does Metronidazole take to work?
Usually, Metronidazole starts working within 1 hour of its ingestion. However, it may take around 2-3 days to make you feel better while taking Metronidazole. If you do not experience any significant reduction in your symptoms, consult your doctor.
Q. Can I drink alcohol while using Metronidazole?
No, avoid drinking alcohol while taking Metronidazole. Moreover, you should avoid alcohol even after 3 days of finishing the complete course. Drinking alcohol can cause an unpleasant reaction (disulfiram like reaction) with symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing or redness of the face.

Yes, Metronidazole may cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be reduced by staying hydrated, brushing teeth after the meals and chewing sugar-free gum or mints.

If you have taken Metronidazole in excess (more than the recommended dose), immediately contact your doctor or report to the nearest hospital. Overdose of Metronidazole may cause loss of appetite, metallic taste, headache, dizziness, insomnia or drowsiness.
