Respiratory tract disorders associated with viscid mucus
DESCRIPTION
Mucus is produced by the mucus membranes which line your mouth, nose, throat, sinuses and lungs, and it works with the tiny hairs which are lining your airways. Mucus traps particles such as dust and provides defence against infection. However, too thick or dense mucus can trigger your body’s cough reflex, so as to expel the build-up of mucus, which leads to wet or nagging coughs.
