Definition
 
Measles is an infectious disease caused by a virus. It spreads easily from person to person and causes classical blotchy red rashes. The rash often starts on the head and moves down the body.
 
Signs and Symptoms
 
Symptoms include:
1. Blotchy red rashes
2. Fever
3. Cough
4. Runny nose
5. Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
6. Feeling achy and run down
7. Tiny white spots inside the mouth
 
Treatment
 
There is no treatment for measles. The infection can be prevented by the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine
